Honourable Chasi is the current Minister of Energy and Power Development in the Government of Zimbabwe. He has served as the Minister since May 2019. During his tenure he has realised a significant number of milestones in policy formulation, including the approval of the National Renewable Energy and Biofuels Policies of Zimbabwe. Prior to his appointment as Minister for Energy and Power Development, Honourable Chasi served as Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development and also as Deputy Minister for Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs. He has also served as a Senior Legal Counsel for the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe for 23 years and as a Prosector. Advocate Chasi was elected Member of Parliament for Mazowe South Constituency of Zimbabwe in 2013 and again in 2018.
